Liquid Penetrant Test Materials

To perform Magnaflux liquid penetrant testing, you need three core products that work together as a system:

Cleaner/Remover (Spotcheck SKC-S)

Prepares the surface by removing oils, dirt, and contaminants so the penetrant can enter flaws effectively. An NDT-approved solvent cleaner/remover for pre-cleaning before non-destructive testing and for removing excess surface penetrant from an inspection area before applying developer during liquid penetrant testing. This non-halogenated solvent remover can be used on a wide range of substrates to remove oils, greases and other contaminants. Magnaflux SKC-S dries quickly without leaving a residue.

Penetrant (Spotcheck SKL-SP2, SKL-WP2, SKL-4C & Zyglo ZL Series)

A visible red dye or fluorescent liquid that migrates into surface cracks, pores, or defects.  Magnaflux offers Visible Red Dye Penetrants, Water-Based Fluorescent Penetrant and Water Washable Fluorescent Penetrants.

Developer (Spotcheck SKD-S2 & Zyglo ZP Developers)
