The Magnaflux Y-7 is a durable, high-strength AC/DC magnetic yoke designed to detect surface and sub-surface indications during magnetic particle testing. This professional MPI test yoke features sealed chemical-resistant construction and articulating legs for versatile part inspection. Solid-state controls allow the operator to use AC magnetic fields for surface indications or DC magnetic fields for sub-surface indications to meet all inspection needs. Ideal for weld inspection and remote magnetic particle testing, the Magnaflux Y-7 includes a robust twelve-foot cord for field applications. Available yoke with case or as part of the Y-7 MV Kit with magnetic powders and accessories.

Switchable AC/DC Operation for Surface & Sub-Surface Inspection

The Y-7 yoke offers the ability to select between AC and DC magnetic fields via solid-state controls. AC mode is especially effective for detecting surface indications (cracks, laps, etc.), while DC penetrates further to expose sub-surface defects. This flexibility allows the same tool to address a wide range of inspection needs, from shallow imperfections to deeper anomalies. Because it can operate in both modes, the Y-7 reduces the need for carrying separate yokes for different inspection depths.

Rugged Construction: Sealed, Chemical-Resistant, Articulating Legs

Durability is central to the Y-7’s design. It features sealed, chemical‐resistant housing and materials that stand up to harsh industrial or field environments. Its legs are articulating (double-jointed) so they can contour to parts of varying shape or geometry, allowing good magnetic contact even on contoured surfaces. This ensures consistent performance, reliable defect detection, and a longer operational life even under abuse and adverse conditions.
