Lipophilic Emulsifier

The ZE-4E emulsifier is a Method B lipophilic solution designed to enhance the penetrant testing process. This innovative emulsifier effectively diffuses into the penetrant, ensuring thorough removal of the penetrant from the surface of the inspected parts. It is easily rinsed away with water, carrying contaminants off the surface. ZE-4E is specifically formulated for use with post-emulsifiable penetrants, including Level 2 ZL-2C, Level 3 ZL-27A, and Level 4 ZL-37. Its low volatility and high flash point make it suitable for open immersion tanks, providing safety and efficiency during testing.

ZE-4E is proudly listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

ZE-4E can be applied by immersion or flowing, with immersion being the recommended method. The penetrant-covered part is completely covered with emulsifier and allowed to drain for a predetermined length of time, then washed with water to remove the penetrant/emulsifier mixture. The emulsification time will vary depending upon the penetrant used, part surface finish, specification requirements and the desired results.

The emulsification time for ZE-4E ranges between 30 seconds and three minutes for Type 1 penetrants depending on specifications. This time must be monitored closely to get the best results.
