Magnaflux 1837A Aluminum Centrifuge Tube Stand
The Magnaflux 1837A is an aluminum centrifuge stand designed to safely hold centrifuge tubes during MPI bath concentration checks. Its non-ferrous aluminum construction ensures the stand will not impart magnetism to centrifuge tubes or affect bath readings — an important consideration in active magnetic particle inspection environments.
Note: Centrifuge stand only — tubes must be purchased separately.
Compatible Centrifuge Tubes
- Magnaflux 8493 — For Magnaglo 14A, 14AM & 20B fluorescent particles (0–1.0 ml / 0.05 ml graduations)
- Magnaflux 2461 — For Magnavis 7C & 7HF visible particles (0–1.5 ml / 0.10 ml graduations)
- Magnaflux 507923 — For Magnaglo MG-410 fluorescent particles (0–0.2 ml / 0.01 ml graduations)
Why Non-Ferrous Matters: Always use a non-ferrous stand when checking MPI bath concentration. A ferrous (steel) stand placed near magnetized parts or active magnetizing equipment can become magnetized itself, potentially disturbing the settled particle layer in the centrifuge tube and giving you a false concentration reading. The 1837A’s aluminum construction eliminates this risk entirely — keeping your bath monitoring accurate and your inspection process compliant.
Key Features
- Non-Ferrous Aluminum Construction: Will not impart magnetism to centrifuge tubes or affect bath concentration readings
- Universal Compatibility: Fits all Magnaflux ASTM pear-shaped centrifuge tubes (8493, 2461, 507923)
- Stable Support: Safely holds tubes upright during the full settling period (up to 60 minutes)
- Lightweight & Durable: Aluminum build for long-term use in shop and field environments
